Edison's explicit request to provide for a screening of the most impactful plant components, mainly the chimneys and partly the steam generators, has played in this sense in favor, allowing us to give the building elements an important added value. Like a fabric, the roof is laid on buildings, it frowns adapting to their different morphology, it breaks, it cuts out where planting needs or formal choices impose it, becomes a mantle that collects heterogeneous elements underneath, leading them to a precise expressive unity. . The north face is configured as a succession of flounces that, painted with colors ranging from light brown to pale blue, simulate the fading of hills on the horizon. On the other hand, the southern façade, directly illuminated by sunlight, exploits the effect of chiaroscuro given by the succession of strips of metal that tilt gradually towards the ground to discover ever larger portions of shade. The space between the two fireplaces is left open, a large void, a rose window that frames the surrounding landscape and draws the metal wall by subtraction. Its upper edge, bent at 45 °, can be illuminated from below, lighthouse in the night landscape.
