Building in via San Raffaele, Milan
Milan, Italy
2017

The main goal of the project is to identify and
enhance the building’s uniqueness, to bestow a
new identity on the building so that it becomes
recognizable in the urban landscape.
The prestigious location, with the main façade
overlooking piazza Duomo, gives the building
a double meaning: on one hand it bestows an
undeniable commercial value while, on the other
hand, it requires a heightened awareness to be given
in its refurbishment, especially regarding the seventh
floor and the roof, which are directly visible from the
paths and terraces on the top of the Duomo.
The projects aims to improve the internal and
external areas on each floor, which is only possible
through an interpretation of the specific conditions
and opportunities that they offer.
In particular we studied solutions for the sixth floor
(which has no windows on the main façade), for the
seventh floor, and for the terraces and the roof, in
order to transform challenging arrangements into
new spatial qualities for commercial opportunities.
